　杏林大学は、グローバル人材育成推進事業の一環として、定期的にグローバルセミナーを開催している。外部講師を迎え、主に学生を対象に医療や起業、イノベーションなどをテーマに講演を行ってきた。
　5回目を迎える今回は、このグローバルセミナーを教職員のFD/SDの機会と位置付け、講師にAndrew Horvat氏を迎えて、「インターンシップの教育的役割」についての講演を実施する。

＜講師紹介＞
　A Canadian born in Hungary, Andrew Horvat speaks several European languages as well as fluent Japanese. He has a B.A. and M.A. in Asian Studies from the University of British Columbia, and has spent time studying at Keio and many other institutions. He spent 35 years as a journalist, most of them in Japan as the Tokyo correspondent for various newspapers. He has served as the president of the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan and the Japan representative of the Asia Foundation, and more recently Director of the Stanford Japan Center at Doshisha University. He has also taught at Showa Women's University and Tokyo Keizai University. He has many published works on Japan and the Japanese.
